HRA LEGISLATIVE REPORT March, 2011 by Max Cooper

The Hawaii Legislature is at its halfway point.  All bills relating to firearms are dead, pending any unexpected resurrection via legislative magic.

The bills supporting gun rights that we liked are still alive for the 2012 Legislature.  This year, Legislators were too busy with the budget and related issues and too spooked by the public mass murders in Arizona.

There is a Resolution (HCR 174)  proposing a “feral animal working group” with a group of invited interested parties, including HRA, to meet 4 times before the next legislative session with DLNR to consider better management of feral animals, including more hunting opportunity.
